Routes can be set up and called up in the memory. A route is a particular path to be traversed by a locomotive (or a train) and for which all of the corresponding turnouts and signals are to be set at the press of a single button. A route can also be activated by a switching contact in the track (see S 88 decoder) ausgelöst werden.
A small yellow dot is shown on the button for a route as long as the memory is setting the items for that route.
When the dot changes to green, the route has been set and a locomotive or train can be run over it. If a route is interrupted, because for example a turnout in that route has been changed in its setting, then no dot will be shown on the button for that route.
There is a button at the right end of each row in the memory, and this button is used to switch between pure manual operation and mixed operation . The procedure for switching between the two modes applies to all routes in this row. In pure manual operation a route can only be activated with the button for that route in the Central Station. In mixed operation the routes can also be activated by the S 88 contacts assigned to those routes.
The button is used to switch to the configuration mode. Here, you can first select a button to which you want to assign a route. Now, you can give this route a name by which you can quickly recognize the route again. After that you can assign an S 88 contact to the route to activate that route. Such a contact does not have to be indicated (stays then at Contact "0").
After these preparations you can set up the route, in which you switch to the "keyboard" (without storing the changes and without leaving the configuration mode!) and click on correct settings for the items necessary for the route and in the correct order for that route. The button is used to delete items incorrectly inserted into the route. As an alternative, the items to be switched in the route can also be selected in "layout". The selection process is more manageable this way, but here too you must make sure that you have the correct setting for the item to be put into the route.
The button is used to store the newly generated or altered route.
Note:
Routes can also be nested, i.e. you can use an existing route as an item to be switched in a new route.
A route can be deleted by deleting all of the items to be switched or set in that route. It is not possible to have empty routes.
