Variation in the Track Connections for the Central Station
The Central Station can supply up to 2.4 amps of power to the main or
train running track (when the 60052/60055 transformer is used). Short
term an even higher current can be obtained. A current of 1.0 amps is
provided at the programming track. The Central Station can take a total
load of 3.0 amps.
Connection Variations for H0 Gauge
In order to make use of the maximum available current, the programming
track can be included in the layout as its own area track (compare with
the connections for a Booster). It must be noted however that no other
user or decoder may connected to this area of track, since the
programmer function for the programming track would no longer be
guaranteed. Make sure that a maximum of only one locomotive is standing
in this area of track at any one time for the programming
function.
Connection Variations for 1 Gauge
Since a current of 2.4 amps is not always enough for 1 Gauge
locomotives, the programming track can be included in the power
consumption area for the main or train running track. You then have the
maximum available 3.0 amps at the main track.
It must be noted however that the polarity of the track connections
between the main track and the programming track is the same (otherwise
there would be a short circuit).
Programming a locomotive with this variation for a circuit is however
not possible. We therefore recommend that you separate the area for the
programming track from the rest of the layout by means of a switch.
