Additional Information about Acceleration/Braking Delay (ABV)
The acceleration/braking delay (ABV) is set rather differently,
depending on the decoder being used. While the setting for this are
done on older Märklin decoders with potentiometers (a type of
rotary control device), they can be programmed on current decoders with
the controller, such as the Central Station. In addition to the setting
in the decoder (hardware ABV), settings for ABV can also be stored
separately in the controller (software ABV). This allows you to set and
monitor with a fine touch locomotives with older decoders, without
having to open the locomotive.
The ABV settings that can be made in the configuration for a locomotive
affect only the software ABV. These settings are not transferred to the
decoder.
The settings for ABV in programmable decoders can be changed by means
of access to CVs. These settings do not have any influence however on
the settings stored in the Central Station.
